When are the recycling centres open over Christmas?

CHRISTMAS is a time of year almost everyone looks forward to, but the cleaning up – not so much.

Wrapping from presents and food mean that most people have a huge amount of waste that needs to be recycled.

Despite Covid measures being reintroduced to limit the spread of the Omicron variant, the Vale of Glamorgan Council will be keeping the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) open.

The only days that the HWRCs will be closed are Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Other than those days, the HWRCs will keep to normal opening times – though you need to book a time slot.

Bookings at both Barry Recycling Centre in Atlantic Trading Estate and Llandow Recycling Centre Llandow Industrial Estate begin at 10am.

Bookings close at 3.20pm in Llandow and at 3.15pm in Barry.
