Watch: Leon Symons arrested for murder of teen Harry Baker

SOUTH Wales Police have shared footage of a convicted murderer being arrested.

Leon Symons, 22, was arrested for the murder of 17-year-old Harry Baker and has since been found guilty.

Symons has been jailed for life, with a minimum tariff of 28 years.

In the video, Symons admits being at the scene of the killing but denied being responsible. A jury has since dismissed his claims and found him guilty of murder.

Symons is one of seven who has been sentenced for involvement in the death of Harry Baker, following a trial at Newport Crown Court.

More information about the other six’s convictions is available here.

Harry Baker, aged 17, from Cardiff, was chased for a mile and stabbed nine times at Barry Docks in August 2019.

Judge Mr Justice Picken, who sentenced the seven involved in the killing, said: “He did not deserve to die.

“His death is as tragic and unnecessary as anyone who is murdered.”

Speaking outside the court, Harry’s mother, Emma Baker, said: “This sentencing has concluded what has been a hugely traumatic experience for us as a family.

“To sit in court daily and see the people responsible for robbing us of our beloved Harry showing utter contempt and no remorse has made the worst experience of our lives all the more difficult to deal with.”
