ARMED police were called out to an incident in Barry this morning.
Today – Tuesday, July 12 – South Wales Police officers were deployed to an address in Maes-Yr-Ysgol in the Buttrills area of Barry.
This was due to a report of a man in possession of a weapon.
The incident has now concluded but officers remain at the scene to make enquiries.

A spokeswoman for the force said:
“At around 11.30am today, officers were called to reports of a man in possession of a weapon at an address on Maes-Yr-Ysgol, Barry.
“Firearms officers were deployed to the location.
“The incident has now concluded.
“Officers remain on the scene as enquiries continue.”
We are awaiting confirmation on whether any arrests – relating to this incident – have been made. We will keep you updated.
