Rhoose community hub opens to local delight

A NEW community hub has opened in the Vale of Glamorgan to a packed crowd.

Rhoose Community Hub opened on Friday, May 13, with entertainment from Rhws Primary School Choir, Rhoose Community Choir and the St Peter’s Puppeteers, along with a buffet. Those in attendance were given a guided tour of the facilities.

In attendance at the launch were Dawn Gunter from Monmouthshire Building Society – who helped towards the £600,000 cost of the hub, MS Jane Hutt and councillor Samantha Campbell. MP Alun Cairns, Archdeacon Rod Green and Andrew James, head of De Morgannwg Ministry were also in attendance. The Archdeacon and Mr James both gave an address.

MORE NEWS:

The hub will be home to Chatty Café, Dementia Café, and the Meet on Monday’s parents and toddlers’ group. A café will be open to the public for a day a week with hopes to increase this.

The hub had been a dream in the community for somewhere to meet the needs of those in the area. It was brought to life by vicar Melanie Prince and was managed by the vicar and her team in the parish churches in Rhoose, Porthkerry and Penmark.
