A PENARTH pub is set to re-open after a significant refurbishment.
The Cefn Mably pub, on 1 Lavernock Road, has been taken over by new licensee Natasha Rees.
Ms Rees was previously the licensee of another Penarth pub, St Fagans Castle, and has run pubs for 15 years.
The refurbishment has taken one month, and the intent is to give the venue a country pub feel.
To further this goal, the pub has been given a refresh inside and out, and the interior has been redesigned with a green colour scheme.
New furniture and art has been brought in as well as six LCD televisions that will show Sky Sports and BT Sport.
A new pool table, a darts board, a skittles area and a jukebox are new additions to the pub.
Ms Rees said: “I can’t wait for the refurbishment to be complete and for the people of Penarth to be welcomed back to the Cefn Mably with open arms.
“The pub has needed freshening up for a number of years, so I’m very excited to be at the forefront of this transformation of a once neighbourhood-loved local pub.
“In the future, we also plan to introduce food to the pub, work on the B&B rooms on-site to bring them up to scratch for 2022, as well as giving the garden area a revamp so our customers can enjoy the summer sun.”
