Iona Jenkins, 73, publishes creative and spiritual book

A 73-YEAR-OLD hopes to help others when her book is published next month.

Iona Jenkins is an author, creative writer, and poet with experience in guidance, counselling, hypnotherapy, and psychotherapy.

Although originally from Yorkshire, she has lived in Penarth for a decade. Her first book to be published through a publishing company is set to hit the shelves from December 9.

Her passion for spiritual and personal growth is reflected in the book which is titled To Sing with Bards and Angels – A Journey into the Creative Heart.

“My book is an invitation to travel through landscapes evoked by beautiful language, into the heart of nature, imagination and the magic of a creative spiritual journey,” said Ms Jenkins.

“This is my first book with an actual publisher [as opposed to self-published] so the ninth of December is a big event in my life this year.

“Becoming a published author and regular blogger at the age of 73, feels like a real achievement and proof that creativity is open to all ages.

“I have included exercises in this book to help readers connect to the natural world and their own creativity.”

To Sing with Bards and Angels – A Journey into the Creative Heart is being published through O-Books which is a leading published of body, mind, and spirit books focusing on titles including:

  • Spirituality;
  • Development;
  • Self-help.

Chosen Chief of the Order of Bards Ovates and Druids, Eimear Burke, said:

“To Sing with Bards and Angels weaves together the fertile worlds of our spiritual and creative lives with the natural world and the realm of Spirit, illustrating with personal stories, poems and suggestions for practice, how the relationships between these worlds are intimate, inseparable and life-enriching.

“Iona Jenkins’ gentle wisdom illuminates the landscape of the heart and the song of the soul in each of us.”

To Sing with Bards and Angels will be available to order from Griffin Books in Penarth or online from December 9.
