Update from highlight surgery

The surgery has signed up to provide the University of Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. We are in the process of acquiring the necessary accreditation to enable us to start vaccinating.

At the moment we will ONLY be able to immunise the over 80s in line with the national priority list. (This will not include patients in residential or care homes as the mass vaccination centre are organising this).

There are a number of planning activities the practice has to complete before we can start calling in patients for immunisations, so we would appreciate your patience during this time. We also need to await delivery of the vaccine, so this will take time. Once everything is in place we will automatically start calling patients in for appointments, beginning with the over 80s.

All other age co-horts and those at risk (including those who were advised to shield) are currently not included. However we will continue to keep patients informed via our website and social media, so please do not contact to enquire as this will only add pressures to our phone lines when we have patients trying to call us for urgent care.
