We wanted to update you on the work Welsh Water be carrying out to provide a new water pipe to support a development in Barry in January.
What are they doing?
Their work will involve installing a new water connection on Port Road West where it meets Stirling Road near Tesco.
The work is planned to be carried out on Sunday 10th January, **Saturday 16th January and Sunday 17th January.** They will be working between 8am and 5.30pm.
Will residents’ water supply be affected?
While residents’ water supply will be maintained, some residents nearby may notice some temporary discolouration of their water. Discoloured water is unlikely to be harmful to health but they wouldn’t expect anyone to drink it when it looks unpleasant. It usually clears fairly quickly after a few minutes of flushing the taps through.
Will there be traffic management in place?
In order to ensure everyone’s safety, Welsh Water be reducing one side of Port Road West down to one lane. However, Welsh Water will be maintaining all traffic access with the use of four-way traffic lights. They are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for bearing with them.
