EMERGENCY services rescued someone who fell down rocks earlier today.
Today (January 2) just after midnight a team of emergency service workers were at Friars Point in Barry, due to a person who had fallen down rocks.
A statement from Barry Coastguard says: “Our team and Llantwit Major Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were tasked to a person who had fallen down rocks at Friars Point, Barry.
“On scene, casualty care was given and then a slow extraction to bring the person up to a place of safety.”
The incident occurred around six minutes past midnight today (Sunday, January 2).
A statement from Llantwit Major Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team states: “[We were] tasked to assist Barry Coastguard with a person fallen on rocks on Friars Point.
“The police helicopter quickly located the casualty and together with Barry Coastguard the casualty was extracted with our rope rescue equipment.”
Other agencies involved with the rescue mission were:
- South Wales Police;
- National Police Air Service;
- Welsh Ambulance Service.
The Welsh Ambulance Service are unable to comment due to patient confidentiality.
