Next week is Dementia Action Week 2019.   Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team are supporting this campaign by providing partners and organisations with a social media communications pack.  The aim of the pack is to raise awareness that a healthy lifestyle can significantly reduce dementia risk.  Our key message is ‘What is good for your heart is good for your brain’.


There are six steps that can improve  health and wellbeing and reduce risk of dementia:-

• Be physically active

• Maintain a healthy weight

• Be socially and mentally active

• Think about your drinking

• Stop smoking

• Regularly review your health


The toolkit includes social media messages,  banners and key messages for you to share across your social media platforms.  The toolkit also gives ways in which people can achieve the 6 steps.  We hope that you can disseminate these to your contacts and use the resources as creatively as you can to help us raise awareness that ‘What is good for your heart is good for your brain’.
