Atal cam-drin pobl hŷn

CYFARFOD AGORED: Fore Mawrth 7 Rhagfyr, 10.00-11.00am

Mae atal cam-drin pobl hŷn wedi parhau i fod yn flaenoriaeth allweddol i’r Comisiynydd trwy gydol y pandemig. Ym mis Ebrill 2020 sefydlodd y Grŵp Gweithredu ar Atal Cam-drin mewn ymateb i bryderon am effaith y cyfyngiadau symud ar bobl hŷn sydd mewn perygl o gael eu cam-drin, neu sydd mewn perygl o gael eu cam-drin gan sgamwyr a throseddwyr.

Trwy gydol y pandemig, mae’r Grŵp Gweithredu – sy’n cynnwys aelodau o dros 30 o sefydliadau sy’n gweithio gyda phobl hŷn, ac ar eu rhan – wedi bod yn gweithio gyda’i gilydd i sicrhau bod pobl hŷn yn gallu cael y wybodaeth a’r gefnogaeth sydd arnyn nhw’u hangen i’w cadw’n ddiogel a’u hamddiffyn rhag camdriniaeth a throseddu. Mae’r Comisiynydd yn gweithio gyda’r grŵp i fwrw ymlaen ag amrywiaeth o gamau i amddiffyn pobl hŷn rhag cael eu cam-drin, sydd wedi’u hamlinellu yn Strategaeth y Grŵp Gweithredu – mae ar gael i’w darllen yma.

Hoffem eich gwahodd i ymuno â chyfarfod agored Grŵp Gweithredu ar Gam-drin y Comisiynydd ym mis Rhagfyr. Cewch gyfle i ddysgu mwy am waith y grŵp i ddiogelu pobl hŷn yng Nghymru rhag camdriniaeth, yn ogystal â thrafod blaenoriaethau’r grŵp wrth i ni edrych ymlaen at 2022.

Bydd y cyfarfod yn cynnwys y wybodaeth ddiweddaraf gan y canlynol:

  • Helána Herklots CBE, Comisiynydd Pobl Hŷn Cymru – gwaith ymchwil wedi’i gynllunio a gwaith ehangach i fynd i’r afael â cham-drin
  • Lynda Wallis, Cadeirydd Senedd Pobl Hŷn Cymru – Gweithio gyda Grŵp Llywio’r Comisiynydd

  • Diweddariadau ychwanegol gan aelodau, gan gynnwys Age Cymru, Cymdeithas Gweithwyr Cymdeithasol Prydain, Erosh, RCN Cymru a Heddlu De Cymru

Stopping the abuse of older people

OPEN MEETING: Tuesday 7 December, 10.00-11.00am

Stopping the abuse of older people has remained a key priority for the Commissioner throughout the pandemic and in April 2020 she established the Stopping Abuse Action Group in response to concerns about the impact of lockdown restrictions on older people at risk of abuse or at risk from scammers and criminals.

Throughout the pandemic, the Action Group – which includes members from over 30 organisations working with and for older people – has been working together to ensure that older people can get the information and support they need to keep them safe and protected from abuse and crime. The Commissioner is working with the group to take forward a range of action to protect older people from abuse, which is outline in the Action Group’s Strategy – available to read here.

We’d like to invite you to join an open meeting of the Commissioner’s Abuse Action Group in December to learn more about the group’s work to protect older people in Wales from abuse, and priorities for the group as we look ahead to 2022.

The meeting will include information and updates from:

  • Heléna Herklots CBE, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales – planned research and wider work to tackle abuse
  • Lynda Wallis, Chair, Welsh Senate of Older People – Working with the Commissioner’s Steering Group
  • Update on Welsh Government National Plan to Prevent Abuse of Older People
  • Additional updates from members including Age Cymru, British Association of Social Workers, Erosh, RCN Cymru, South Wales Police

If you’d like to attend the meeting, which will be held online via Zoom, please register here: https://tocyn.cymru/event/318b4d02-c215-4020-ab02-2e9e9760a03a/s (The meeting link will be shared with you following registration).

We hope you can join us in December!
