Covid figures for Vale of Glamorgan from Public Health Wales

MORE than 2,700 cases have been recorded across Wales, according to the latest figures.

The latest Public Health Wales update – for the 24 hours up to 9am on Wednesday – recorded 2,743 new cases across Wales, of which 123 were in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Elsewhere in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board region, Cardiff (296) recorded the highest number of new cases across Wales.

The Wales-wide rolling seven day case rate per 100,000 people – up to March 19, the latest available figure – now stands at 424.2.

The Vale’s case rate (513.5) is the second highest across Wales, with only Blaenau Gwent’s (662.7) higher.

Cardiff’s case rate now stands at 449.7 – also above the Wales-wide figure.

Public Health Wales has confirmed that two further coronavirus deaths in Wales. The death toll in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board region since the start of the pandemic is 928.
