Consultation on Barry Town Council corporate plan 2022-2027

BARRY Town Council is working to create a corporate plan for the next five years – and is inviting members of the public to share their views.

Barry Town Council is looking to create a plan outlining how it will runs services for the next five years (2022 – 2027), with people encouraged to complete an online survey sharing their thoughts.

Those who complete the survey will have the chance to win a FitBit.

It has 21 questions with the plan focused on seven wellbeing goals for the town; people can share their thoughts on objectives and pitch their own ideas if not included.

In the past two five years (2017 – 2022) Barry Town Council has:

  • Awarded £89,854 in grants to local organisations;
  • Awarded £29,250 to all secondary schools in Barry to purchase Books for Schools
  • Provided £256,358 in grants to local businesses and organisations to help in the recovery from Covid and lockdowns;
  • Launched Barry Youth Council;
  • Partnered with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to bring the first Festival of Light to Barry;
  • Installed Christmas Lights at all shopping areas across the town;
  • Built a new community centre (Cemetery Approach Community Centre) in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
