Cardiff Plans for ‘Canal Quarter’ cramp Bus capacity

The top of Churchill Way is taken over for the ‘Canal Quarter’, he project to uncover part of the Bute Dock canal. This means the bus stops are displaced further from Queen Street and taxi spaces disappear.
With only 4 bus stops (small green blocks), the buses will not be spending much lay-by time here in future. The removal of through traffic past Queen St station (except taxis) will give welcome help with congestion delays.
The tight loop via Station Terrace (Queen St stn) and Churchill Way North Edward St is available as terminus for buses from the east of the city.
What on “Event Days” when Wood St and Westgate St are closed? A fraction of buses will be able to loop in and out of the new Central Sq bus-station, but congestion there will surely increase the tendency to stop buses at Churchill Way.
No sign of expanding bus facilities for the required modal shift to public transport in these plans.
All the ‘consultation’ says is “improved public transport links”! Public ‘consultation’ is for 8 weeks (perhaps till 10 May, but unclear).
