Barry teenager jailed for assaulting emergency workers

A TEENAGER has been locked up for assaulting two emergency workers.

Michael Ashley Stephen Sparks, 19, of Pencoedtre Road, Barry, carried out the attacks in Cardiff on August 26.

He pleaded guilty to two charges.

Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard the assaults were “deliberate and aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending”.

Sparks was sent to a young offender institution for four weeks.

He was ordered to pay £128 in compensation and a victim surcharge after his release from custody.
