Barry Island’s Brian Mayne in Resource Hot 100 list

A BARRY Island man has been voted as a leading environmentalist alongside the likes of Greta Thunberg and Sir David Attenborough.

Brian Mayne was included in the list Resource Hot 100 for his commitment to eliminating waste and emissions. Mr Mayne has been included in Resource Magazine’s annual list for a number of years, reaching number 28 in 2004. In the 2022 list, he made number 95.

Mr Mayne said: “I’m particularly pleased to make the top 100 this year as I’ve cut back on national public speaking engagements and writing articles and concentrated on supporting local organisations such as Friends of Barry Beaches, Barry Action for Nature and Valeways.”

The Resource Hot 100 has been celebrating the people they feel have made a difference each year since 2002 as voted for by waste and resources industry professionals.
