The HOPE Project is a Welsh, national project, created in partnership with local Age Cymru/Age Connects partners to support older people and the carers of older people by setting up a low level, independent advocacy service. Our Volunteer Independent Advocates can help ensure your voice and wishes are heard and that you’re able to obtain the services you need – this could be through representing you in conversations with your GP, or helping you in seeking support with a scam phone call, or letting you know what cleaning or food delivery services are available in your local area (just to give a few examples).
Our service is now available and we are raising awareness in local communities so that older people and their carers know we can support them. I’ve attached a digital flyer to be shared, please do feel free to share these with groups of people you work with or know who might need access to our service.
We are also recruiting and training volunteers to deliver low level advocacy – I’ve again attached a digital flyers to share with people who are looking to give something back to their local community and support other older people.
If you or anyone you know would like to use our service, find out more about advocacy or HOPE, or would like to know more about volunteering, please do contact me. My email address is [email protected] and my phone number is 07943186780. I am more than happy to share more information with any groups you are a part of that you think would benefit from more knowledge around this service.
